Each fall near the beginning of the school year, we give our first graders an NIV Adventure Bible of their very own. We encourage them to not only read their Bibles at home with their parents but also to bring them back each week that they come to Kidway, so they can learn how to use them and read them at church as well. A few weeks ago, 52 precious first graders received their new “big kid” Bible! Their excitement was evident as they gladly accepted their gift! Read on to hear what a few of our 1st graders had to say about their new Bible.

What do you like about your new Bible?

Caitlin: That I can read it with my family.
Landry: I can read it and learn more about God.
Easton: I like the maps at the end of the Bible. I like the pictures at the beginning of each book.
Autumn: I love how it teaches us more about Jesus.
Scarlett: Well since I can read now, I like how I can read it instead of looking at pictures in my baby Bible.

How is this Bible different than your “little kids” Bible?

Caitlin: It has more words in it.
Landry: This Bible is different, because it has more words and less pictures.
Easton: It has more big words! It weighs more!
Autumn: More words, less pictures
Scarlett: It tells the full story!

What do you plan to do with your Bible?

Caitlin: Read it with my family or by myself.
Landry: I plan to use my new Bible to learn more about God.
Easton: Read it everyday.
Autumn: Read it and love it
Scarlett: Bring it to church, tell others about Jesus with it and read it.

What is your favorite Bible Story?

Caitlin: Sampson
Landry: My favorite story is Jonah and the whale because the whale eats Jonah
Easton: David and Goliath
Autumn: When Jesus died on the cross and saved us from our sins.
Scarlett: Moses parting the Red Sea!
