College Ministry Update

Gateway is committed to connecting people to Jesus Christ and to one another in all stages of life, including college students. Recently Bill Corbin who had led our college ministry for several years decided to go back to school and see what God would have for him and his family next. We are blessed in both Bowling Green and Findlay to have great college ministries on campus to partner with in carrying out our mission to college students.

At the University of Findlay we have started to partner with Findlay Campus Ministries. They have a number of Bible studies offered to students, serving opportunities, a mentorship program, as well as their Thursday evening Revive service. They are holding a church fair and do all they can to help students get connected to local churches where they can be further taught and discipled. Pastor Josh and Jon McKanna, our North Main Campus Pastor, will both be speaking at the Revive service this school year. Findlay Campus Ministries has helped provide childcare for our recent Volunteer Training, volunteered at the Jacobs Primary Back to School Bash, and they will be leading worship at our North Main Campus in the month of October. We’re excited to see how this partnership continues to grow and how it will allow us to connect college students to Jesus Christ and to one another.

At Bowling Green State University we partner with Campus Outreach. Campus Outreach seeks to build a community where students who do not know Jesus can be reached through engaging and relevant Bible studies, weekly meetings, weekend retreats, and conferences; while believers are established in the faith and equipped to reach others as well. For seven years, Campus Outreach at BGSU has been leading young men and women to faith in Christ, discipling them into spiritual maturity, and sending them out all over the state of Ohio and United States ready to make more disciples in their workplace and communities in partnership with local churches. We are excited to see how the new Gateway site in Bowling Green allows students to take advantage of opportunities to serve in the church and grow in their vision of what church looks like beyond their time in college.
