Our core group of 7 from last year grew to a total of 13 people this year, and we are looking forward to adding another couple at our next meeting. When this group came together in the fall of 2019, it was as if we had been together for years. The transparent love they share with one another is amazing to be a part of and to watch. We meet every other week, and every one of them looks forward to the time they spend together, digging into God’s Word, and loving on each other.
What is it that creates this kind of bond? When our Life Group members were asked, “Why do you love your Life Group?” these are the responses we received:
My Life Group is my family...a place where I’m able to share my journey with Jesus, both good and bad. It is a place of safety, refuge, acceptance and love that Lori and I have genuinely felt. This family is molding us, challenging us and encouraging us in our journey with Jesus. Thank you Lord, for all You are doing in this family! -Lori & Lyn Loewen-
Our Life Group connects me with believers that love Jesus and share their joys and burdens. We laugh and learn from God’s Word together to strengthen our hearts as we walk through life. Our group has become very close to one another, something we must share with others in the church and wherever we go...a blessing we are privileged to be a part of, for sure! -Chris & Matt Fetrow-
This group has been spiritual life blood to me. Everyone is so open to sharing and learning about God. The group sharing about the lesson is so helpful in understanding it all. We are a very close knit group and this has felt like home from the first meeting. –Diana Quate-
I like that our group has good conversation centered around the study. There is freedom to remain quiet and listen or to engage. Our group has been very easy to get to know. –Sue & Doug Freed-
In my opinion our life group is everything a life group should be...loving, caring, supportive, learning more of God’s Word, but most importantly sharing the love of Jesus, not only to our group, but to our church and community. –Rita Farmer-
I have held off joining a life group for a long time, but lately I have been feeling a desire to join a Life Group. One Saturday evening after church service, low and behold, Lynn & Jeff invited us to visit their Life Group. Rita & I feel like we have found a home. We really appreciate the love we feel and are strengthening bonds with friends we have known for years. Being a part of this group makes us want to be more involved in the church and as a result I feel closer to God. –Mike Farmer-
Colossians 3:14 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom.........with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” It is amazing to see that the study of God’s Word and the indwelling of Christ of every member of our group is changing lives so that His Love overflows in the hearts of our precious brothers and sisters in Christ onto others at church and in our community all week long. All praise and glory be to God!
