Christmas in a Bag

We all know that you can’t fit Christmas in a bag, but you sure can fit a lot of fun activities in one! At the end of November, Kidway assembled 85 bags filled with Advent activity ideas and supplies for Gateway families. The purpose of the bags was to help families focus on the reason why we celebrate Christmas throughout the weeks leading up to it. Each bag included a booklet with devotions and activities that families could do together throughout the month.

“My preschoolers have both enjoyed the ‘Christmas in a bag’ booklet and activities. Many of the activities are super simple and easy to do but they are also intentional and bring the conversation back to Jesus.” ~ Adrienne, mom of 3

“Even though my kids are younger, we have been able to find some activities in the packet that they enjoy and understand. My daughter LOVED the balloon activity and also the ‘Joy to the World’ activity.” ~ Morgan, mom of 2

“Christmas in a bag has been an interactive way to keep the Christmas season focused on Christ. We have enjoyed having crafts and activities easily available to utilize during this busy time of year and can incorporate it with some traditions we already have in place! “I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the work that was put into the kids' packets for the Christmas bags! I’m sure it wasn’t easy, but not growing up in a church I sometimes feel overwhelmed with trying to be intentional at home teaching the kids about the word and God. This makes it so easy and fun to do and our kids enjoy it! I can tell a lot of effort and thought went into it.
