Staff Updates in 2021

2021 was a year of many changes for Gateway’s staff. We said goodbye to Scott Miller, Joe Middleton and Mike Norman as they moved on to new employment opportunities and after several years of semi-retirement, Dale Briggs was finally allowed to fully retire. Pastor Robert’s role shifted to focus almost entirely on pastoral care and counseling, enabling us to better care for our members who are hurting. We welcomed Jeff McGlade (Life Group coach) and Lea Grable (Operations Administrator) to our team in July, and in November, Jared McBride shifted from Communications Director into the role of Facilities Manager. All of these changes led to some internal restructuring, especially within the Worship and Communications departments, with Jon McKanna taking the position of Director of Worship and Communications (while continuing to serve the North Main Campus), and Shaun Meloy taking artistic ownership of Gateway’s graphic design and branding (in addition to continuing as the County Road 9 Campus Worship Leader). As we look ahead toward 2022, we anticipate adding another member to the Communications team, and we hope to hire a position to oversee discipleship (Connect, Serve and Next Gen) ministry staff. We are thankful for all the wonderful leaders God has blessed Gateway with both now and in the past, as well as those he will draw here in the future!
