The horrific and unjust suffering in Ukraine is dominating the news. What we see in graphic detail is difficult to comprehend. We know that God is sovereign in all things and no government is beyond the reach of his hand. Psalm 22:28 records, “For dominion belongs to the Lord and He rules over the nations.” Yet due to the destructive consequence of a world dominated by rebellion from God, the excruciating distress of a nation under attack continues. Much is being done on the world stage to try to end the conflict and serve those in need. What can WE do?
You can pray, and you can give. May we suggest that you read this article from the EPC’s World Outreach as to how to PRAY? If at all possible, please do GIVE to the efforts to fund the immediate needs of millions of refugees and the ministries that are making a difference. Our denomination has a relief fund found here that is directing funds to those in need in Ukraine. Alternatively, you can give to organizations such as Samaritan’s Purse or World Vision who are already on the ground making a difference. We know Gateway’s people are incredibly generous, and our Go department will be contributing. We hope you will, too!
