On October 15, we had our annual Go Celebration where we got to hear from several people who were able to go on a mission trip over the past year. You can sign up for one of the 2025 mission trips here. Here are some of the quotes from the night.
“We keep wanting to go because they need us” Psalm 58:10 - Bill
“I’m willing to be a blue shirt in order to connect people to Jesus” - Dan Harmon
Many on their team had different family dynamics present (father w/ two young boys, father and daughter, brother and sister) and since the trip, relationships from the team have continued to develop. Also the piece about the lady recognizing and communicating that it’s the church that has been a light to them and helped when their world has been turned upside down.
“Many of them are graduating and will go back to their village where they are the only Christian”
“The thing that most impacted me from this trip to Cuba was the body of Christ that was put on display through the Cuban women. They traveled from who knows where or how far in the heat and busy, crazy streets to come to our workshop because they desire to know the Lord but also to be with one another! Their fellowship and how well they love one another was just so compelling to me. I don’t think I’ve ever had so many wonderful, God-fearing women in my corner at one time, that I could share with, cry with, talk with, dance with and most importantly laugh so hard with! Being with all of you (team) and all of the amazing women in Cuba was such a gift.” - Lana
“My favorite moment of the night was praying for RCB. It was such a wonderful opportunity to lift our brothers and sisters up to the Lord and remember them in their moment of need. What an honor to call them family!” - Dorie
Heavenly Father,
Today we come to you calling out to your throne the names of your children who are actively serving their own brothers and sisters and even strangers.
Lord, Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace.
So clothe your servants in Lebanon in your Spirit that they, reaching forth their hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you, for the honor of your name.
Give the gift of your presence to each one who wearies himself with the needs of others. Allow times of rest for the one who hasn’t slept well for weeks. Inwardly strengthen your daughters who never stop cooking and cleaning and serving.
Give your grace to those who do not pause from their labors out of fear they might start thinking and feeling the gravity of the situation.
Empower your servants for they are your hands and your feet. Theirs is the only face of Jesus many will see. Let their countenance, their words, and their actions preach the gospel today.
Lighten their loads and overflow their hearts with your love. Give them faith in your promises that none of their work is in vain but all of it will produce a harvest of righteousness.
To the glory of Jesus our Messiah and Lord. Amen.
