Recently I came across some of Jim Elliot's journal entries from his time evangelizing the Huaorani people of Ecuador. I was so inspired by his desire to serve Jesus and his passion for the Huaorani people. One quote from his journal has stuck with me over these last couple of weeks and I can't stop thinking about it. Jim wrote “Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.” I don't know about you but I believe we are called to live life with that same mindset as Christ's followers. When I think of the work Jim was doing and the impact he made on so many for the sake of the Kingdom I can't help but want to live the same way in my own life. This reminds me of the words in Psalm 146:2 where it says “I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.” Can you imagine how different life would be if we all approached each day with this attitude? So I want to challenge us to not allow our circumstances to cause us to miss out on what God is doing in our life. May we face each day singing his praises being fully there living to the hilt in every situation for his glory. You can learn more about Jim and his story here.
