What I'm Reading

I read quite a few books each year. Often people will ask me about a book or as for a suggestion of a good book to read. So I thought I’d share what I’m currently reading (for those of you who are interested).

A Theology of Biblical Counseling by Heath Lambert - I don’t consider myself to be all that great of a counselor, but this book was recommended by a friend and I’m finally getting around to reading it. Being that it’s theologically driven, it’s been a much more encouraging read than I imagined.

The Family Life of a Christian Leader by Ajith Fernando - I’m always looking for a book to challenge and shape my life at home. It’s way too easy and tempting to take it easy at home even though it’s the most important ministry I have.

The Final Storm by Wayne Thomas Batson - The kids and I are always reading a book together. We’ve been in the “Door Within” trilogy for some time, but are nearing the end of the final book. It’s a bit like CS Lewis’ Narnia series, though a bit more wordy than Lewis. In fact, the kids have asked for us to read the Narnia series again when we’re done with this trilogy.

Sought by Grace by R. Kent Hughes - This book has been on my shelf for about a year, so it’s time to dig into it. I love reading and learning more about God’s grace.

No Little Women by Aimee Byrd - This book focuses equipping women in the church. Looking forward to learning how we can do a better job at equipping the women at Gateway.
