Gateway was so excited to host Trunk or Treat again this year, especially since the venue was changed from Gateway North Main to Jacobs Primary School. Gateway has partnered with Jacobs to serve that community, and we were able to provide a non-scary, safe space for kids to trick-or-treat while showing the love of Jesus to the Findlay community in such a fun way.

We are so thankful for all who donated candy and the 29 amazing trunks that trick-or-treaters toured that evening, from Moana to mad scientists!

There were over 300 kids in attendance at Trunk or Treat, and we were blessed with beautiful weather and a great turnout. We were so humbled by the response of those who attended; families in the community commented that they loved the safe environment. One student introduced her family to some Gateway “Jacobs Lunch Buddies” volunteers. Other neighbors, some with little ones who had already gone home for the evening, heard the excitement and walked over. They were blessed to be able to grab dinner and hot chocolate while their children visited trunks. Jacobs teacher (and Gateway member) Cheryl Drake said, “A parent just contacted me and told me how much her family enjoyed Trunk or Treat. Thank you so much for reaching out to our families.”

The Chick-fil-a cow was also spotted in attendance! Gateway was able to partner with Chick-fil-a for the event, and their support was such a blessing. Our other partners were the Findlay police who helped us love and keep everyone safe. Trunk or Treat was a great representation that we are a part of an awesome community that takes care of our kids.
