Is Your God Big Enough to Change You?

We’re in week five of our sermon series, “Is Your God Big Enough?” This weekend, we’ll look at the question: Is your God big enough to change you?

Have you ever tried to change a habit in your life?

It could be breaking a bad habit or starting a good one. I probably don’t have to tell you that change tends to be an extremely challenging venture.

I don’t know what you’ve been trying to change in your life, but you might be able to relate to one of these questions:

  • Why can’t I just start eating healthy?
  • Why can’t I keep a consistent exercise regimen?
  • Why do I continually have to put my foot in my mouth?
  • Why does it seem like I’m always bitter or angry?

You may be wondering, Why can’t I change?

Well, you can. Actually, God can change you, as you work together with Him. That’s sanctification. Sanctification is the church word for God and you working together to change you to become more like Christ. You need to know that God can change you, and if you trust Him as ‘big enough’ to do so, He will.

This weekend at Gateway, we’ll look at 2 Corinthians 5:11-21 to discover how God can change you. Ultimately, we’ll see that God changes us from our old ways to a new way. If we are in Christ, He makes us into a new creation.

Join us for worship at Gateway this weekend!
