We live in a world where busyness is one of the enemy’s favorite tactics to distract and weaken believers, and one of the most important things you can do for your children is set an example on how to prioritize their relationship with the Lord above everything else. As fall sports wrap up and winter sports kick off, we challenge you to consider the wisdom found in this article, written from a college student’s perspective, on the eternal value of prioritizing gathering each week for worship above the tempting lure of sports. Let us not neglect the Worship of the Lord and idolize sports. Instead, let us be people living intentional, counter-cultural lives for the glory of God and the good of our children, even down to making decisions about the activities they participate in.
