World Religion Conversation Kit-Islam

Emily Peters, North Main Kidway Director & Assistant Youth Director

A few months ago, a podcast series was recommended from Axis. Since that recommendation, the organization has shifted its focus to providing resources to families for free. They’ve reorganized their podcast structure and new tools are now available to help parents connect with and disciple their teens!

One new resource available from Axis is their conversation kits. These kits are video series designed for you to watch with your teen and discuss together. Axis explains that these family-friendly videos weave biblical principles with cultural references to provide an engaging experience that is relevant to teens and trusted by parents. Each kit includes a video series divided into segments and a discussion guide for you and your kids to work through together. Conversation kits include topics like sports, doubt, drugs, and more.

Some of our students, particularly those in sixth grade, have been studying world religions at school. This week’s recommended resource is a conversation kit entitled ‘World Religions’ sharing the world religion, Islam. As a church, we will be praying for God to meet Muslims with the truth of the Gospel during this time of prayer and fasting. Gateway Church has several ways that you can join in prayer throughout the month of Ramadan. For ways that you can get involved, visit www.gatewayepc.org/ramadan. In particular, if you would like to know more about Muslims and how to pray for them, come to one (or all!) of our Evenings of Prayer. You will have the opportunity to hear from international partners and staff about the Muslim world. I’d challenge you to dig in with your teen and gain a better understanding of those outside of the Christian faith while joining us in prayer.
